Changeling

I was having a decent online conversation with a close friend a few nights back.

He said, and I quote, "A classmate of mine told me that I'm too self absorbed. Egoistic, to put it crudely." To cut things short, he concluded that he would try to change himself, much to my agreement.

As I sat reflecting on my bed last night, I was reminded of times where people would tell me to not change my attitude because of what other people say, or that I'm even already fine the way I am.

I find that to be utter nonsense.

Change, is inevitable. Change, is nature.
In fact, we should all be continuously changing, being molded into becoming a better person each day.

Most times, the catalyst of change comes through the stinging words of friends, and leaders. Yes, it might hurt, but if it hits at our flaws, and causes us to change our attitudes and mindsets, then by all means.

Go ahead.

What I'm trying to hit at is that we should not turn our backs to change. Well, good change to be exact.
After all, we're all imperfect. It all depends on whether we try to lessen the imperfection, or stay rooted at the spot until we look back and regret it.

I'm always learning to receive criticism, and accept the need to change with an open heart.
It's probably time for you to do the same.

"You can't grow without change"

What more when it comes to relationships. Too many people tell their partner that they're perfect the way they are. Now, is that really possible?

True love does not hold another back from reaching their full potential. True love would grow one another through mutual change, not hinder the progress that both people should be making as individuals.

True love would care enough to want the other to work on their flaws, instead of showering the person with sweet (but destructive) words that stops a person from going through change (and growth).

Get it in your heads people.

Catalysing change,
Shaun
